What if I need to go to a hospital?

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Do you treat work-related injuries?

Yes, NIU Health does accept workers’ compensation insurance.

What if I have an injury or illness that may need advanced diagnostic testings such as an X-ray, CT scan, or ultrasound?

Currently, NIU Health does not offer advanced diagnostic tests; however, just like your primary care provider would, we may refer you to an imaging center capable of performing these tests. Your membership does not cover the cost of these tests, therefore you will be able to use your current health insurance to supplement the cost.

For members who do not currently have health insurance, we have relationships with imaging centers that offer our members discounted prices on these tests.

Does NIU Health accept my health insurance?

Yes! If you have insurance your membership is FREE! After being evaluated by a doctor, you may use your current health coverage plan for other health-related services such as laboratory testing, diagnostic imaging, or getting medications from a local pharmacy.
